André Robinson has had a peripatetic career as a community and cultural organizer, writer, producer and director. His pathway as a creative place-maker, first as a client, then consultant transformed into a practice as a self-performing eco-system and real estate developer. He also works around the country as a producer of creative content in an array of expressions. André has been building collaborations in community and cultural development and engagement for more than 35 years, first in WDC, New York, LA and Oakland, and his adopted city of Baltimore. Proud to have served as the managing director for Belafonte Enterprises, working specifically with Local 1099’s healthcare initiative and the relaunch of the Bread & Roses project and created the framework for Mr. Belafonte’s Sankofa Project and The Justice League. He co-chairs the Housing Committee for the State of MD’s Social Determinants of Health Taskforce, the Steering Committee for Live Where You Worship Collaborative and also serves on the Equitable Development Committee for the Community Development Network. He serves on the board of the Westport Community Economic Development Corporation and as an advisor to Neighborhood Builders Inc, a, Live Where You Worship partner organization. He is currently producing a local multimedia platform called, Be More Open. André works with a number of community associations, community development corporations and other local operators to build bridges of cooperAndré is proud to have served in the development and construction/rehabilitation of facilities for Crossroads Theater (NJ), My Image Studios (NY), Lincoln Theater (WDC), Roger Furman Theater (NY), Linen Life Park Avenue (CA), Disney Interactive, and Disney Online (CA) to name a few. Mr. Robinson also serves on the advisory council for Baltimore’s ESHIP Communities, a partnership with Forward Cities and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
