Discover the mission and BE a part of the community's vision

WCEDC is a non-profit 501(c)(3)

The mission of the Westport Community Economic Development Corporation (WCEDC) is one that directs a focus to social and economic development in lower income communities throughout the South Baltimore region.

Westport is a gateway neighborhood located in South Baltimore. The community is made up of small businesses and wonderful residents who take pride in their community. It is bordered by the Middle Branch River to the east and rises to 80ft above sea level. The communites of Cherry Hill and Lakeland are to the south, Hollins Ferry Road to the west, and Interstate 95 to the north. The Baltimore Washington Parkway (BWI- MD Route 295) runs through the middle of Westport and intersects with I-95. The community is located within 10 minutes of Downtown Baltimore, MARC Train, and BWI Airport. The mass abandonment of industrial parcels in the last  three decades and the addition of a lightrail system has made Westport a great resource for community and economic development. WCEDC and our partners are committed to producing added value to our social capital and infrastructure and unfolding measurable outcomes.
